Beautiful property with breathtaking views. Yes visiting times and rooms are restricted but it's a family home! Volunteers were all very knowledgable and more than happy to share information. Gorgeous rose garden and areas to sit and contemplate. We didn't have a chance on this occasion to go to the village hall for tea and cake so that's the plan for next time we visit. All in all an absolutely lovely National Trust property.

What a lovely place. House and grounds both worth a visit. Great information provided by the NT volunteer hosts in each of the rooms accessible (the family still live there); the library and paintings are stunning. Nice walks through the grounds with fantastic views on the walk to the obelisk. We will be back.

It is only open on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons because the family lives in apartments upstairs and also uses the downstairs rooms in the house. There very pleasant tree lined walks in the grounds to an obelisk and a couple of temple type features, as well as an icehouse, Rose garden and a small cascade.

The late April sun rides high in a flawless, bright blue sky, casting a warm glow over the grounds of Farnborough Hall. Walking through this landscape, I watch the trees and hedges just beginning to burst with that vibrant, initial flush of springtime green. The world feels incredibly still. The only sounds punctuating the peaceful silence are the cheerful melody of birdsong and the distant bleating of newborn lambs in the fields. I wander down the gentle slope to the edge of the calm river. Sitting beside the small, tumbling waterfall, the rhythmic rush of the water acts as a cleanser, washing away any lingering noise from the outside world. Reluctantly leaving the riverbank, I make my way up the hill, passing the magnificent, ancient tree that stands like a proud sentinel of the estate. Crossing the sprawling, manicured lawn, I join the long grass walk that stretches toward the horizon. My destination is the obelisk, standing tall against the brilliant blue backdrop. As I sit down at its base, the entire landscape unfolds beneath me in a breathtaking panorama. Taking in the sweeping view of rolling hills, fresh foliage, and timeless architecture, a profound sense of serenity washes over me. In this perfect moment, completely at peace with the world, I realize I’ve found my happy place.

The house itself is nothing special by National Trust standards but it is set in beautiful grounds with stunning views over the Warwickshire countryside. Some lovely walks around the grounds and the area generally (dog friendly too). Limited opening hours as the house is still being lived in by the Holbech family so plan accordingly.
