Hanbury Hall is a lovely place to visit, with beautiful grounds that are perfect for exploring. The café is excellent too – ideal for tea, coffee and cake before or after a wander around the extensive gardens. It's easy to spend a few hours here and happily lose yourself among the landscaped grounds. While the house itself didn't have quite as much to offer as some of the other historic properties we've visited, it was still interesting and well presented. As always, the friendly, knowledgeable and smiling team made the experience even more enjoyable and were happy to answer questions throughout our visit. A great day out, especially for the gardens and welcoming atmosphere.
We had to queue on the road to get in as there was a outdoors cinema on when we visited but I would imagine on a regular weekend there would be no waiting. Inside the hall is a large painting by Sir James Thornhill on the staircase, which was the main attraction for us. There are walks around the estate and several garden areas. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful mansion and surrounding garden, worth visiting as a NT member, but may be a bit steep for the £45 family price. Volunteers were friendly and helpful. The car entrance using Google map can also be confusing.
Stunning location, from gardens to house! Staff is very friendly, cafe is really good also. Plenty of space for walking, great way to spend your day out! Highly recommend!
Beautiful gardens and property. Here you don’t just have the inner gardens but you can actually do some lovely small hike in the ‘outer gardens’. There are two areas where you can sit outside and in, and enjoy some refreshments. Coffee was machine-made and was very milky and not very warm. Cheese scone was nice.
