Nice easy walk down to river Dart with a touch of relaxing drizzle on an overcast windy day where the wind is just a mild breeze. Then up the steep way to Hillfort where the fern are crowding both sides of the single walking path and back down to the NT car park. Mid week not many people about but for dog walkers and the occasional swimmers.

Great place for a shady walk in natural woodland alongside River Dart. We swam in cool pools on river and walked up to the iron-age hill Fort. Get there early to access limited free car-parking spaces.

It's a fantastic place to start exploring the beautiful Devonshire Countryside. It gets busy on sunny days, but you have to understand its attractive beauty. Well worth the patience to find a place to park.

A beautiful woodland walk with plenty of access to the river. Lots of wildlife available to observe from kingfishers to beetles and stoats!
