The mill is connected to a good footpath and minor road network so an interesting place to visit on a circular walk from Alderley Edge

Literally nothing there! Turned up on bank holiday Monday expecting a usual National Trust experience - it must be closed as there was nothing there. So we left disappointed.

Just love this little gem of a mill. Such a wonderful roof (which weighs an impressive 300 ton). Such character. Great guides so knowledgeable and friendly. It is thought to have existed since 1391! There are two wheels here which are not that easy to see. There is a small tunnel like structure which you can go around which our children loved. The mill had been restored by the National Trust between 2008 ~ 2012. Would highly recommend a visit!

Fascinating little building, which it's still an operational flour mill. If you can make it during the limited opening times, the guided tour is packed full of information & demonstrations to give you a real feel for the history of this local treasure.
