Former golf course which is rapidly returning to nature with a wide range of flora and fauna. Well made walkway through the reserve with extra grass cut walks to allow for further exploration. Good parking at Sandilands although the construction work is limiting that at the time of writing (May 2026). Limited parking at Huttoft Bank end but good cafes at both ends :)

A peaceful, developing coastal gem! I recently visited Sandilands Beach and was really impressed by the transformation happening here. If you prefer a quiet, natural coastline over the typical seaside "arcades and candyfloss" vibe, this is the spot for you. The Beach & Walks The beach is incredibly clean and wide. It’s very dog-friendly so it’s a great place to bring your four-legged friends for a proper run. We loved that the beach walk links up directly with Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe, making it perfect for a long, scenic hike along the coast. The Nature Reserve The National Trust is turning the old golf course into a nature reserve. Although it’s still in its infancy and needs time to fully mature, you can tell it’s going to be stunning. A huge plus is that the reserve is sheltered from the wind, so if it’s too breezy on the shore, you can head inland for a calmer walk. There are also some great interactive elements for the kids to engage with nature. Facilities & Parking Parking: Plenty of spaces available. It is free for National Trust members otherwise, there are handy hour, 2-hour, or 4-hour paid options. Toilets: The public toilets were surprisingly clean and well-kept. Food: The main cafe is still under development, but there is a porta-cafe on-site for coffee and snacks in the meantime. Overall, it’s a lovely, fresh-air destination. It’s already great, but it’s definitely going to be a 5-star location once the greenery grows in and the cafe is finished!

Lovely place for a walk & explore. This site is newly acquired by NT, alot of work has been done & it will continue to grow & become a spectacular nature haven. Parking & toilets available. Cafe under construction atm but the Vista at the Boatsshed is an longstanding cafe providing fantastic meals & snacks at the opposite end of the walk ... one & a half miles.

A new Nature reserve due to be finished in 2026 by the National Trust. You can really see what a great reserve this can become. Easy gravelled paths to walk along with bridges and bird hides. Toilets at both ends of the reserve and a cafe at one end but another one due in 2026. Easy free parking for National Trust members. Dogs allowed but on a short lead.
