We had a great time to look around this light house, Gordon, the lighthouse tour guide was such lovely guy, who knows many things about it. My kids loved this whole place.

Gordon gave us a very interesting tour from cellar to the top of the lighthouse and was a really lovely guide. He knew all the historical informations about the place and the area and answered all our questions. The lighthouse with tour (approx. 30 minutes, maybe longer without toddler) is really a must see and do. The place offers toilets and a fancy old tearoom with good cakes. Small souvenir shop as well. We thank our guide and really enjoyed our time there :-) couldn’t have been any better :-)

The guided tour at South Foreland Lighthouse was absolutely wonderful — both interesting and beautifully presented. The guide was very friendly and made the history of the lighthouse come alive in a really engaging way. Climbing to the top is absolutely worth it, as the view from above is simply stunning. A fantastic experience and a great place to visit, especially for anyone interested in history, coastal landscapes and the National Trust.

This National Trust site is one of the most significant lighthouses in the UK, situated at St Margaret's Bay in Dover, Kent, on the renowned White Cliffs. Since the 1800s, this Victorian lighthouse has been guiding ships safely to their destinations. Notably, it was the first lighthouse to utilise electric light. Visitors can enjoy stunning coastal scenery, learn about its important scientific history, and find opportunities to engage with the site.
