We had a fantastic visit to the Natural History Museum in Tring and were pleasantly surprised by how much there was to see. We arrived without a booking and were given a very warm welcome. The lady at reception was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain everything we needed to know before we started our visit. Entry is free, and you can easiliy spend an excellent day out, it's great for families, couples, or anyone with an interest in nature and history. It might look small from the outside but it's situated on a few floors with plenty to see so you can definitely speand a few hours there. The museum is beautifully maintained and features an impressive collection spread across several galleries. There are fascinating displays of mammals, birds, insects, and many other animals. The museum has a wonderful historic feel. We easily spent a couple of hours exploring and could have stayed even longer. It's a really interesting museum that's suitable for all ages and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Highly recommended!

A superbly realised museum that houses a huge collection of wildlife from every kingdom imaginable. Each animal and creature has been recreated true to size and it's actually eye opening to see just how large some of them can be. The tiger is an instant highlight as it gives you a terrifying overview of the collossal strength and speed it possesses - especially with those razor sharp claws. Other highlights are definitely the various collections of critters, most of which are enough to make your skin crawl - the spider collection and the snake collection will certainly make you wince. There's even a display for various breeds of man's best friend and the history behind the aforementioned breeds is really quite fascinating. Be sure to look up when you visit the various floors as there are many surprises to be found above your head. Admission is free so if you're ever in this pretty part of town, be sure to stop by this museum as it really is rather delightful.

A lovely first museum experience for us in the UK. It’s very family-friendly, especially for kids, with plenty to see and explore. Parking was easy, which made the visit stress-free, and the staff were really helpful and welcoming. It feels a bit like a hidden gem — not too crowded but full of interesting exhibits. The café was also really nice, a great spot to relax after the visit. Definitely worth it!

Fantastic natural history museum in a beautiful setting. Tring itself is worth a visit so half the day can be spent at the museum, the other half in Tring itself with it's independent shops, cafés and boutiques. The museum is a HUGE collection of taxidermy animal across the world, you get to see animal that are rare, albino or even extinct as well as birds, animals, fish and bugs still living today. All floors are accessible by lift. Sweet little independent café with friendly staff. There were two GF cake options but only Oat milk so possibly no dairy free Coeliac milk alternatives? The coffee was lovely though, I had mine with the oat milk and a toasted teacake with jam.

The Tring Natural History Museum is a really excellent place to visit. It consists of several galleries of largely well preserved animals or animal heads, in large, well lit cases. Some central areas have specimens out in the open. During our visit, there were two or three school visits going on, but the place is large enough to find peace. The museum has a very good cafe, which is accessed from outside the museum and a good car park, a short distance away. This place is well worth a visit.
