Norwich, United Kingdom•4.6(39)•Country Park, Heritage Site

Ride heritage miniature trains through Eaton Park on weekends, with steam, diesel and electric locomotives offering family-friendly journeys.

Eaton Park Miniature Railway is a volunteer-operated heritage railway offering public train rides on Sundays throughout the year. Visitors can experience rides on the Mainline, a dual-gauge ground-level track approximately 800 metres long that opened in 2006, with trains powered by steam, diesel, or electric engines depending on availability. The railway features two distinct tracks: the popular Mainline accessible to all visitors, and the Heritage Track, a raised 5-inch gauge line featuring track that dates back to the 1960s. The venue is particularly family-friendly, with affordable fares (£1 for children, £2 for adults on single journeys), and accessible carriage No7 available on Mainline trains that accommodates wheelchair users, prams, pushchairs, and accompanying dogs. Special themed events run throughout the year, including Halloween celebrations and a Tunnel of Lights experience in December. The railway welcomes organised groups and can accommodate birthday parties. Located in a park setting, the venue is dog-friendly and suitable for visitors of all ages, from babies in pushchairs upwards. Services operate from approximately 11:00 am on Sundays, weather permitting, with day passes available at £4 for children and £6 for adults.

This is something I had seen from a distance for years but never experienced. Finally had a ride on the train today and it was a lovely experience. Clearly this is run by some very dedicated and committed people. It's like stepping back in time, highly recommend.

Had paid and queued for 1 hour 15 mins in the cold today to get to the front and be told the train isn’t going to run anymore today. No communication that they were having problems whilst stood in the queue. Kids disappointed, freezing and upset. Waste of time.
