I knew there was a retail park here,with a variety of shops,as i had driven by previously. I did'nt realise the nature reserve was behind it,sharing the same car park.( 5 hr parking limit)Lovely place, nice walk.Will definitely visit again. They have introduced beavers here and cattle to manage the habitat.

Does anyone know why the Wildlife Trust at nene wetlands are still cutting down trees, bushes, etc. yesterday 9th Match and today? Many of these areas may well be active nest sites, I for one don’t believe that the chain saw gangs they they send out check the many hundreds of trees and bushes that they continue to cut down. They seem a law unto themselves.

Nature in harmony with the modern. The Nene Wetlands Nature Reserve can be find near the Rushden Lakes retail park. There is a lake that you can peddle a swan or if your feeling more energetic you can go out in a canoe, but if like me your looking for a more leisurely activity you can take a walk in the nature trail. It follows the lake around and children can have fun trying to find all the carved wooden animals. At the far side behind the new cinema complex is a small area with climbing frames, spiders, slides and a few other things. This is a fun place to visit when dry, if wet take walking boots or wellington boots

Nice place to take your doggie babies. Can get a bit soggy but it was a pleasant walk we had.

It's very beautiful and we went when it was wet. Good loop walk.
