What a wonderful afternoon at the heritage centre. Special mention must go to Sybil Leek, whose knowledge of the New Forest is simply unmatched she spoke about its history as though she'd lived through every century of it. There's something almost otherworldly about her presence; she appeared at my shoulder exactly when I had a question and seemed to drift effortlessly from one display to the next. I left with a newfound love of all things New Forest and a real desire to get out and explore. Five stars.

Didn't go round the museum, but stopped for a quick coffee and cake in the lovely little cafe attached to it. Lovely little place, prices were good, very pleasant, well mannered staff, cake was awesome and coffee was pretty good too!

Never knew the museum was there until recently but it was closed at that time. So popped in to day great find and so much bigger than we thought with lots of interactive things for children. Free entry but fonation request at a suggestive £4.

Lovely souvenir shop with a local interactive museum. Lots of parking using the Ringo app off your phone or bank card. Some interesting goodies in the front shop and a very interesting museum at the back. Wait for the short video about the New Forest inside. It is worthwhile.

I made a short stop in this small town on my way north, and visited the Heritage Centre. There was not that much to see, although the few displays were interesting enough. I guess the centre is more useful as an information centre than a museum.
