Great wildlife park throughout the woodlands with good variety of animals. Some animals we didn't manage to see, maybe it's best to visit around the keeper's talk. The small otters are really cute and noisy! All the animals looked well and happy. The park is reasonable big, so you can spend the day in here. There are picnic tables and plenty of entertainment for children. So it's a great place for families. There are good facilities and the carpark is big. Highly recommended.
My family and I love this place. We have been many times and its lovely to see all the animals roaming and looking happy. Our favourite is definitely the otters and they like to show off with their rocks and skills. You can easily spend a few hours here and enjoy it at your own leisure. The staff are friendly and give talks throughout the day. The cafe is clean with ample seating either inside or outside. Parking is free and its a lovely inexpensive day out.
Wildlife park. It’s cool place for kids, very good looking park. I think it’s a bit overpriced for the stuff you get to see, but I understand that animals needs care and money to look after them. Staff is really nice, helpful. They do talks about animals and tell the story about them. It’s nice little place to spend a weekend.
New Forest as a potential destination for your upcoming family trip. It is a fantastic location for children, largely due to the unique experience of seeing free-roaming ponies, donkeys, and other animals throughout the area. For even more wildlife encounters, the New Forest Wildlife Park is excellent for spotting deer, otters, and various birds. The area is very well-suited for outdoor activities, offering many accessible walking trails, such as those at the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary, and plenty of open spaces that are ideal for picnics. Regarding accommodation, the camping facilities are well-established, with options ranging from rustic fields to family-friendly sites equipped with full amenities. Please note that wild camping is not permitted, so staying at an official site is the best way to provide a secure base for the kids to play and explore. For planning purposes, it is worth keeping in mind that local shopping is primarily limited to village stores and farm shops rather than large supermarkets. While visitor centers generally have public toilets, they can be somewhat basic. Additionally, as the park lacks large lakes for swimming or boating and has limited indoor play areas, it is very much a nature-focused, outdoor destination. If you are looking for a rustic escape with plenty of fresh air and the chance for the children to explore freely, the New Forest is a wonderful choice.
Worth a visit if you are visiting the new forest. The park has an impressive number of giant otters which are amazing to see being fed. You can get up close to a lot of the animals and even feed some of them. The kids loved playing on the equipment in the park too. The place is very well looked after and visually impressive. Parking was easy, entry wasn’t expensive. Took us less than half the day to get around the place.
