My partner regularly takes our son to toddler sessions around Newton Abbot, and they recently decided to try Toddler Tuesdays at the museum. They both had an absolutely fantastic time! Having been to lots of similar sessions, it can sometimes feel as though the organisers naturally gravitate towards chatting with people they already know, which can leave newcomers or less familiar faces feeling a little overlooked. That definitely wasn't the case here. From the moment they arrived, everyone running the session was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely engaged with both my partner and our son. They made them feel included, and that really made the experience stand out. The trains were, of course, a huge highlight for my son, but it was the friendly atmosphere and thoughtful interactions that made such a lasting impression. It was wonderful hearing how much they'd both enjoyed themselves, their excitement said it all. A huge well done to everyone involved. We'll definitely be back as regular visitors and are so pleased to support our fantastic local museum.

Amazing little museum. Railway artifacts are amazing. Free entrance. Staff very friendly and polite. Worth your time if you are around

This was a brilliant museum to visit, with exhibits about the history of the Great Western trains across the Devon area. Info is shown regarding the integration of signalling on the network and there is a full scale signal on display, levers can even be pulled like one would do in a signal-box! Worker's gear is intriguing to see and old local rail items are preserved, including the holiday books showing good reason to visit Devon particularly. The model steam train was fabulous as was the atmospheric railway carriage that can even be pushed along using air in the replica, really interesting to know this used to run using salt air but became too pricey!

A fantastic free museum with lots of activities for children and extremely friendly staff. Our kids particularly enjoying operating the signals and searching for the birds scattered throughout the museum. We spent just over an hour there and could have spent longer if the children weren't starting to get hungry.
