Noak Bridge Nature Reserve is a 20-acre accessible outdoor sanctuary featuring diverse habitats including grassland, scrub, developing woodland and five permanent ponds. The reserve stretches along the northern side of the A127 near Basildon and provides an excellent destination for families interested in nature and wildlife observation. Visitors can discover a rich variety of habitats and wildlife throughout the year. The reserve is home to butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies, frogs, newts, grass snakes and great crested newts in its aquatic areas. Woodland sections support nesting birds including blackcap, whitethroat and chiffchaff, while the diverse grassland contains wildflowers such as oxeye daisy, fleabane and yellow rattle that attract insects and pollinators. The reserve features two wheelchair-accessible nature trails, rustic seating areas, and informative notice boards at entrances. It is easily accessible with free entry, convenient bus route access (route 300) and nearby off-site parking. The Noak Bridge Nature Reserve Society has installed bird and bat boxes and actively maintains facilities, making it suitable for families of all ages seeking outdoor education, peaceful recreation and wildlife spotting opportunities.

We had a pleasant walk with family in the nature reserve, there are plenty of well connected walk ways and cycle paths, good for walking dogs too, there is a duck pond with a large variety of ducks and other water fowls, the pond is clean and well looked after, there are plenty of benches to have a little rest when you are tired, overall we quite enjoyed our walk.

You can make this walk as long or as short as you like. Love the fact there is seating throughout the walk. Great for children and dogs. Looking forward to going back in the summer.

Clean, no litter, good distribution of bins, well kept, lovely area to walk round.

Nice little stroll along well laid out paths and boardwalks. Pretty but can hear the traffic from A127.
