Looks small upon arrival but is quite a large place , plenty of exhibits to look at , some very interesting information on some of the planes etc. Even a Chieftain tank, old lifeboat and trams. I was very impressed with what was available to see, It would benefit from having more volunteers to keep the outside planes clean, and helping keeping this important part of our history alive, I wish I lived closer, I definitely would enjoy helping out, keep up the good work and I hope you get the extra land needed to expand. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are interested in the old airport and aircraft etc. Suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

A great museum, well worth a visit. Seems small at first but there is loads to see, plenty of planes and military vehicles, the harrier and sea king are excellent but I came to see the Vulcan XL319 as they are my favourite. Staff/volunteers are all really friendly and knowledgeable to talk about the planes, I really enjoyed my visit today. Got lucky with the weather. Its only a short drive from the A19, well worth a diversion. Please support this museum if you can with a visit, its fantastic and needs support of visitors. Thank you NELSAM. 😀👍

A nice little museum with some wonderful exhibits. It is only a fairly small place and doesn't look like much from the outside. Essentially they have 4 hangers with many different vehicles and very interesting stories along with some exhibits. It was very quiet on the morning I visited too so I was able to take my time and enjoy it all at my own pace.

Little geek out trip with dad today to Sunderland's, Northeast Land Sea & Air Museum. Great value lots of Brilliant exhibits here including a Vulcan and a Tornado, wartime lifestyle exhibition, various tanks and military vehicles and many others including boats and train. Well worth a visit. The small charge is worth it, this museum receives no external funding l, which is such a shame. It takes a long time for them to be able to upgrade and refurb the items here. The volunteers are so knowledgeable and friendly. They have lots of plans for improvements, expansions and additional exhibits. Highly recommend for a visit, £7.50 we left a nice donation as well, bought a coffee and some souvenirs. It wasn't expensive at all. 2.5 hours well spent 🤓
