Absolutely fantastic place to visit if you're in the area. The hall is free to enter and has a lot of interesting history to it, and the staff at the entrance were happy to talk us through it. The gardens next to the hall were amazing to look around, and the Willows café was great too. The country park around the hall is beautiful to walk around with well marked paths and trails, and there were many interesting artworks to look at which they had placed around the park. Would definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area and I will definitely come here again!
This is a little gem. Fantastic place very old bit tired could do with a tidy up but it's free donation if you want to give but the interior is well worth seeing. Parkland massive plenty of space for dogs and kids to run about. Great to take a picnic with kids. Cafe a bit small could do to be bigger. Only criticism people were leaving dog muck all over the place not good at all.
Lovely place to walk, plenty of different walking paths, great play area for grandchildren. Will be visiting again
Shame about the out of control dogs. Was taking photos of my kids when this ladies dog came and jumped on me with very muddy paws. She seemed more annoyed that I was bothered about it than her dog being completely out of control even when she called multiple times. Too many dogs up here that aren't controlled by the owners. Maybe staff should be enforcing the dogs on leads signs for other visitors safety
What a fantastic, free (donations accepted) little gem! We travelled from Barnsley to Oakwell Hall and really enjoyed our walk around the house, diving into its past with its well informed boards and artifacts. The gardens were great and it was a real step back in time.
