Had a lovely day here with the family overall. I really liked the cashless card system where your money and tokens are stored on one reusable card. It’s a great idea and makes everything much easier. The only downside was the customer service in the amusements area. There were three members of staff on duty. One of the coin dispenser machines wasn’t working properly. I swiped my card several times thinking it hadn’t registered, only to be told by a staff member that the machine was broken. I asked why there wasn’t an out of order sign on it, but didn’t get a response. He handed me a cup of coins and walked away without any explanation or apology. I then spoke to another member of staff, explained what had happened, but again received very little assistance or communication. Finally, I spoke to a third staff member, who opened the machine but still didn’t explain the issue. I again suggested that an out of order sign should be put on the machine to stop other customers having the same problem, but this was ignored. I will say that the young lad operating the rides was excellent. He was friendly, engaging and great with my son, which made a real difference. Overall, we had a great family day and would return. However, I think some staff could benefit from better customer service training and improved English language skills so they can communicate more effectively with customers when problems arise.

Visited on a Friday and came early to queue for the better rides such as the waltzer and the spinning coaster. The staff were very friendly and gave us discount on the bubble ball attraction. The place was very good and I will now go more often. I only have two minor complaints with them being the price however this is why I go on Fridays as it is half price. My other complaint is the lack of rollercoaster as they have one spinning coaster and two kids coaster. I would only recommend buying food at smith’s restaurant on site as the rest are expensive and not great quality. I would highly recommend this place to anyone not in a wheelchair no matter age as they have a kids ride area and many thrill rides.

This is a wonderful place, right next to the sea in the middle of South Shields, where you can come with the family.
