This is medium sized nature reserve tucked away off a residential street. Free roadside parking and access signage can be found on Glenavon Park. There are a couple of information boards and seats dotted around. The pond contained Mallards and Moorhens when we visited. The access path is quite steep so it's difficult to judge if it's suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The paths are gravel. It's evidently popular with dog walkers but thankfully and unusually we didn't see any dog mess lying around. Pleasantly we saw no litter either. In winter it can be quite muddy underfoot.

It has a lovely lake with lots of ducks and moorhens, so don't forget your bird seed! There's the added bonus of being able to walk through Bishop's Knoll arboretum and the old gardens that belonged to the old hospital. It took us a while to find the entrance of Old Sneed Park, though. A great place for dog-walkers.

Couldn't believe that I've lived in Bristol for 28 years and I've never been here before! So much to explore; meadows, woods, duck pond... Now, we need to come back to explore the rest properly!

Beautiful walk in this quiet, foresty area. The paths were easy to traverse, not too muddy despite all the rain. There is a pond by the entrance with lots of ducks Lovely view of the sunset behind the hills. The sun rays filtering through the trees gave the place a magical look. Lots of flowers and all kinds of trees. Some of the bigger trees even have labels telling you what they are. There is also a small abandoned house in the forest and an active railway track running through it. 10/10

Really pleasant walk with a variety of different terrain; some grassland, some woodland, some landscaped gardens and paths. Lots of interesting description boards to read, informing you about the history and heritage of the site! Art installations scatted about too! No bins, no loos, no problem, just be prepared and take rubbish home 😊
