My friend and I had a great day at Paignton Zoo. I wasn’t expecting such a wide variety of animals. I particularly enjoyed seeing the apes who came right up to us. It’s your luck if the animals choose to come out of their hiding places. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. Reasonable entry price.
Good an reasonably priced day out. Expected it to be busy as it was May Half Term, however due to the way the Zoo is set out, it felt quiet. Please do not be put off by the building works that are currently happening, as they hardly effect your visit.
Fantastic day. Spent 3 hours there. Cake and coffee for £5.... Awesome animals....even watched 2 magpies try to beat a snake in the tiger enclosure!! (Snake won) Staff friendly....animals entertaining. Definitely favourite day of our holiday
Always wanted to visit and glad we did. Weather wasn't great but that didn't spoil our visit. Animals looked happy enough and seem to have lots of space. Found the map, and signs, confusing. Also there were lots of paths closed off (1 after about 100 metres - a warning would have been nice). Also not many staff around to ask. Not many places to sit, especially in reception (no seating) when waiting to be picked up. Disappointed that there weren't any sandwiches offered - just pasties, sausage rolls, nachos, jacket potatoes and chips. Cakes were also a bit on the small side. Will definitely go back but probably take a packed lunch. There seem to be lots of areas not being used - incubation room for example. Seems a waste to have those facilities but not use them
We went on a cold damp drizzly day, so some animals weren't outside to see. Im disabled on a mobility scooter. Most of the park is accessible and robust scooters can be hired at the zoo. We were given a map and advised on the best route for mobility scooters. We ate food in the resaraunt. Food was good quality. The only fault was tables weren't cleaned so quickly so hard finding a clean table. We only had half a day here, so we zoomed round. On a nicer day and a leisurely stroll round, you coukd easily spend a whole day here. Animals get fed at certain times, so if you wish to see this, ask at entrance the timings, then you can adjust your route accordingly. We were particularly fascinated with the sloths. Never seen one in real life before, they are fun to watch. I would reccomend a visit, help support this lovely zoo to stay open.
