Planning a stag weekend weekend for 14 people is no joke, but when I found Parkwood Outdoors it became so much easier. My email chain with Natalie from Parkwood spans 4 months and 47 emails, showing just how willing she was to help as much as possible, answer every question I have, and to make our weekend the best it could be. She got is the whole Chalet to ourselves, helped organise dinner on the arrival day so that those who couldn't make it by dinner time still had something to reheat and was incredibly helpful when picking out activities. The food itself was great, we had the steak pie, lasagna and cooked breakfasts which all exceeded our expectations. The chef was very friendly and clearly just eager to ensure everything was ready when we needed and to our liking. The food was hearty and well enjoyed. Ben coached us through Archery, and Canoeing and was both fun and patient with our shenanigans, especially on the water. He did a great job of teaching us what we neede to know, whilst letting us go when safe to have our fun. Dan watched over us during crate stacking and did a fantastic job of both instructing us on how to keep eachother safe, and how best to stack as high as possible. He was a great instructor and we were very grateful for him to be there to show us the ropes. All in all the accomodation was simple, but pleasent and well suitable, the location was absolutely stunning and couldn't be beaten, showers hot and with good water pressure. I'd finish by noting it was a good deal cheaper than a anywhere else yet somehow no less quality, and had availability for us when noone else did. It was a pleasure and thanks for having us. Liam

I came on a solo cycling trip. The streamside camping is not easily accessible - down a steep gravelly path. There are limited flat pitches. The shower block is clean and the showers are hot but it's a bit of a trek. The shop is poorly stocked, no healthy food or ingredients. The location is pretty cool.

Firstly, this site is in a wonderful location for walking or watersports. We were a group of two staying on a reservoir view camping pitch on a weekend walking trip, and the location was absolutely ideal. On arrival, we unfortunately found that our pitch was somewhat rocky, meaning that it was extremely difficult to get tent pegs into the ground. The shower and loo facilities (male and female) were filthy, looking like they were in desperate need of a good clean. We were also sharing the site with several large groups, which meant that at times the two loos in the female facilities were not sufficient to meet demand. There was no soap at all in the mens block dispensers. The site was also quite loud. Overall, if you were a large group this would be a great option, but I probably wouldn't recommend this site if you are a small group or couple looking for a quieter weekend.

Honestly Dan and Glyn were amazing. They were both Safety conscious, engaging and both fun to be around. The pair of them are exactly what new instructors should strive to be. Best instructors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Will definitely be coming back "lush" centre

Last summer when doing a OTT trail run I mentioned to my best-man this location would be an ideal spot for a stag-do. He took it upon himself to book the site for 16 of us for a 2-night stay over the weekend. We stayed in the Dolygaer Lodge and had the run of the place which had plenty of beds, a great dining room and social area. We basked under the heat lamps in the communal room for hours. The location is amazing, offering views over the reservoir and surrounding valley, and when at the reservoir you get views of Pen-y-fan and the Brecons. The Brecon Mountains Railway train running through site gave the lads a well received random moment of joy. It's a popular site for Duke of Edinburgh students camping on site, but we were very glad to have a warm lodge to sleep in. On the Saturday we did the Gorge Adventure led by Becs and Glyn, which was really well organised, it was plenty cold and challenging enough to clear a few sore heads. Fair play to Becs for getting us to the starting point in 1-piece with us all weighing down the minibus! On the Sunday, Becs was the lead for Archery which again was well ran and the group enjoyed the challenge. The shelter was a god-send because the weather was grim at times. The biggest of shoutouts to Paul the on-site chef and caterer, the food provided for breakfast, lunches (packed), and dinner was top tier. Paul was accommodating for later meal times. Not having to worry about cooking and cleaning for 16 hungry blokes was amazing. The Steak and Ale pie with mash after our 3-hours in the Gorge was the thing of legend. Paul's food will go down in the stag group as folklore. For people considering an outdoorsy type of stag-do, I can absolutely recommend this place and we're already considering a return as a family group.
