I visited Leighton Buzzard Splash Park this week during the very hot weather with a child I look after who is non-verbal and autistic. He’s 11 years old now, so not such a little one anymore! 😊 What an incredible place for families. The splash park is spotlessly clean, extremely well maintained, and such a fun, safe environment for children. There’s also a fantastic playground, a large sandpit, and plenty of open green space for picnics or just relaxing. The beautiful trees provide lots of welcome shade, which was much appreciated in the heat! I had the pleasure of chatting to Dean, one of the park’s maintenance team, and his dedication really stood out. From checking the water levels to making sure everything was running perfectly, it’s clear how much pride he and the whole team take in their work. They all deserve so much recognition. What impressed me most was how inclusive the park is. The splash area, playground, and sandpit are all SEN and wheelchair friendly, making it a place where everyone can enjoy themselves. As someone caring for an autistic child, that means so much. There are also clean toilet facilities and a small café selling drinks, coffee, ice cream, and snacks. Best of all, it’s completely FREE! A huge thank you to Dean and the whole team for creating such a wonderful, welcoming space for families. We had an amazing morning and will definitely be back. Highly recommended! 🌞💙

Love this place. It’s free. They have a little shop that sells ice creams. But it’s perfect. Need to get there about 11am to grab parking but it’s a massive space to park up and get your picnic blanket out.

This splash park is an amazing place for families and children! The splash area is very clean, well maintained, and so much fun for kids to enjoy on warm days. There is also a large green space perfect for picnics, relaxing, and spending quality time outdoors. The kids loved playing in the sand area and the playground, which kept them entertained for hours. There are plenty of beautiful trees that provide nice shade, making it comfortable even on sunny days. The park also has clean toilet facilities and a small shop where you can buy coffee, ice cream, and snacks. It’s the perfect place to spend the whole day with your children. Everything is well organized, family-friendly, and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing day out with the family!

What a fantastic place for a day out with kids! I was so grateful to Leighton Buzzard Council for providing such a wonderful environment for families to enjoy their day off. The area felt incredibly safe, and there was so much for the children to enjoy — a lovely playground, a splash park, and a large sandpit. It was also easy to access and the parking was very affordable, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for a fun and stress-free family day out!

Visited today, the new play area only opened this week so we were excited to go try it out. The kids aged 2-6 all loved it. The council have done a great job of making an inclusive play area so that everyone can enjoy it. As well as the new play area there's a great splash park which was very clean, a big sandpit area and a skate park. Plus a huge amount of green space and the band stand (where there was a brass band playing today). Impressively on a hot day the cafe didn't run out of ice creams and the toilets were decent. Plenty of car parks nearby - Duncombe Drive has an alley straight through to the park. Some photos are from the council site but are a good representation.
