A scenic heritage Railway in the Peak district. A sedated Train journey between Matlock ( Mainline ) station interchange and Rowley South. A large inventory of Shunting Locomotives in operation at Rowsly South and others awaiting restoration at DarleyDale sidings.

The volunteers and staff are all extremely friendly and helpful - they made it a 10 out of 10 experience. They are dressed up as if it’s the steam train era. The train interior is well maintained and cleaner than most regular trains in the UK. We were a group of 6 so we had a whole cabin to ourselves on the train.

Great little journey, my grandson loved the experience for his birthday. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Nice little tea room for a nice cuppa or a coffee on the go!! Value for money, but don't expect first class luxury, this is an old train!!!

Excellent afternoon spent travelling on a preserved diesel train from rowsley to matlock . Superb tea room and station too staff very friendly and dogs are made very welcome. Lots of parking

It was pretty good, was a nice surprise for the kids and something a bit different for them to do over Christmas. We could actually see the train as the platform isn't long enough so all you can see is the backend as well as the carriages which was a shame. The staff were friendly and the price was ok for what you got. I would recommend if you have young kids and are looking for something a bit different to do over Xmas.
