Really enjoyable experience at Peasholme Park! No fee to enter, great for just a walk around the gardens, we also went on the dragon peddalow boats which was lovely! Definitely will visit again if I am near Scarborough. Great for families or groups or any size. Ice cream and refreshments available as well as toilets. Great to visit even if the weather isn't amazing, the main paths around the gardens aren't muddy.
There was not a lot of colour in the gardens but designed beautifully with a great variety of plants trees pagodas and winding paths and waterfalls. Local people were hand feeding the squirrels and birds so lots of entertainment for the children. There is a cafe and on a good day sit outside and admire the view. It was a lovely day out and well worth a visit.
We have visited Scarborough several times over the last few years and we loving coming to the park. It is a peaceful and spacious park with a lovely boating area in the middle. Plenty of seats to watch the world go by and the kids love it here too which is always a bonus!! A 5 minute walk to the beach. Plenty of paid parking nearby.
What a cool place! The dragon pedaloes are a must, get those thighs burning and dodge the bobbing seagulls in the water, but for £12 to hire, well worth it. The park has some real hidden gems peppered around, lots to explore and see. The cafe was very reasonably priced and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The toilets could do with some modernisation and perhaps a larger quantity considering the number of visitors. But overall a great place to visit in Scarborough.
It is so beautiful, I just wish the weather was better so that I could take more lovely photos. I saw so many pigeons, squirrels, swans, ducks, seagulls, and even rats (not once but twice :))). Love the architecture, but I was so sad that the road to the bridge and the tower in the middle of the lake was locked. In general, it's worth visiting and I would defo come back in a sunny day.
