I visit this nature reserve about once a week. Our family like many others are experiencing various complicated health problems, including cancer, and some days just feel very heavy and hopeless. This place is so peaceful and full of wildlife. It lifts my spirits and brings me a sense of calm. I can’t thank the volunteers enough for keeping it maintained.

Lovely spot, nice walk. Very glad to have found it. The pet cemetery was a really lovely find, all those treasured pets amongst the wildflowers. Definitely recommend a walk.

Amazing little reserve, we saw so much bird life today, Kingfisher was awesome also Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Sparrow-hawk, Buzzard, Nuthatch and so on, also a bonus was seeing 3 female Fallow deer and one stag with his antlers on display in the woodland. A lovely little hide to sit and watch for the Kingfisher over the lake. Well worth a visit, just be warned though, a very small car park for no more than 4 cars. The only downside is that as always one or two ignorant people leave their litter scattered about!!! We picked up a couple of cans and plastic bottles, also empty crisp packets etc, we took them home ourselves and binned them, really no excuse to leave litter!!!!

What an amazing place. We tried to visit a few weeks ago but the car park was full and there is a sign saying that if it's full you need to come back another day. We nearly didn't. But I'm so glad we did. It is really beautiful. Very calm and relaxing. All the paths are raised so they don't get muddy. They are wide enough for a wheelchair. But there are multiple kissing gates to get through that are not wide enough for a wheelchair. There is a large lake which is split into two. One has a bird hide. The other has benches around it. The ducks are friendly, and a couple even followed us. Although please be warned that the road to the reserve is very muddy and has multiple huge potholes with water in them. And the car park is extremely muddy too. But once you've negotiated that the paths in the reserve are in very good condition. Thoroughly recommended.

By chance I found this while examining Google maps. Thought we could take a look with our cameras. It was worth it for us. Unfortunately there isn't much parking for cars. But we thoroughly enjoyed visiting as it was our first walk in months. Here are some of the pictures from the cameras. Great area for the older generation 😉
