Absolutely superb. Free entry. Friendly staff. So much to see and read. Better than a NT property of similar style. Could've spent hours in there. Has a lovely, calm feeling too. An absolute MUST visit when in Derby.

Fantastic afternoon out , lovely volunteers,great building .we visited for the Dracula exhibit didn't realize that the whole house was open for a wonder thanks to the volunteers ☺️

What a hidden gem. Georgian house with original features. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Recommended if you like architecture or history or theatre as there is a sizable paper theatre collection at the top of the house. You do need to be able to climb stairs as it's all original features.

Wonderful experience! Likened to time travel, the air of the place takes you back in time the moment you step across the threshold. Fantastic furniture, halls for entertainment, kitchens preserved as they were back in the days...all so surreal. I will go back there surely to relive the experience. Helpful and excited staff who are very knowledgeable about the era the building represents, able to fill in the blanks by giving you historical data and facts offhand. I was thoroughly impressed! Those who work in museums honestly should be lovers of history - these ones were. Kudos!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and I was given a helpful overview on arrival. The house is a Grade I listed building and has been beautifully preserved, with original features such as the old bathtub and sink still in place, which adds to its charm. Inside the house, there is also a Dracula exhibition which is very well presented, though I have to admit it gave me quite a scare! The museum is for free!
