Fabulous gardens. Well tended beautiful herbaceous borders and fascinating succulent beds. Tremendous collection of ferns, one of my favourite plants. Pity we were just too late for the magnolias.

Had lunch first in cafe, tasty. Wondered round house, cosy for a castle and friendly guides. The official tour allows access to more areas. Grounds are worth a visit with wild areas, play areas and a more formal walled garden. Plants available to buy at reasonable prices and a s/h book library next to the cafe. If you are into lawn mowers a quick look in the dedicated museum room is definitely worth it.

Lovely azaleas and other shrubs. Different garden areas with wide variety of styles, woodland walks, walled herbaceous and roses, fernery, herbs. Spanish based cafe. Very good plant sales with some unusual varieties at decent prices and quality - particularly succulents for some reason! Always a good day out.

Beautiful place and a lovely day out for all the family (including the furry family members). Lovely walks, beautiful gardens. We went the start of January, so the castle and building weren't open. But we still had a lovely time exploring the grounds. Cool little adventures for children. Our son who's is 5 and autistic absolutely loved the boardwalk through the trees. Will definitely be returning 😌

Had a great afternoon here!! Have been to many NT/RHS and other places, but Picton was way up there with the best! The castle/house had a great feel to it, you could almost live there, very homely. Garden was very well kept and we liked the general layout and especially the herb beds. Restaurant food very good as well Just wish it was closer for us to revisit!
