Really worth the visit. A piece of history just waiting to be discovered. The guides are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. This isn’t just a windmill sited in an open field, it’s a true treasure trove of historic information.

Quite spectacular. Well kept. Informative staff. However steep steps, and restricted room, makes it tricky for children under 8 and people unsteady. However the view of it is great and ground level ok.

A short pleasant flat walk to a lovely heritage site in a quiet village. Considered as 1 of the oldest post mills in Britain.

An historic post mill, and is one of the oldest in Britain. It's a Grade II* listed building. Dating back to at least the 17th century, it was used for grinding flour for the local village for almost 300 years. It's managed by the National Trust and is only open on certain days to the public, allowing visitors to explore its inner workings and enjoy the views of the surrounding Chilterns, but check there website before going, unfortunately it wasn't open the day we visited, there's a small free car park, and a little walk, really nice looking windmill.

We were so fortunate. We visited on a Friday about 1pm and were given a guided tour and comprehensive description of the history and workings of the windmill. 2 flights of fairly steep steps take the visitor right to the top of the mill. Thoroughly recommended. Access was across a field; the rough pathway is not suitable for push- or wheel-chairs.
