The communication museum very interesting place to visit, I have visited the museum several times very informative place. There is a small coffee shop or tea and bits to eat. Lots of info on how it all started and a. Under ground bunkeralso very interesting. The bunker has escape stairs, which you can climb 4 long stair cases quite steep and you must wear hard hat. It's not for the faint hearted, I took the clime on and on reaching the third stairs my legs were getting tired but made it to the top. Tere is ample parking with pay machines, they are in the process of changing them, and yes you still have to pay to enter the museum. You can also go down to the beach where the coms cables enter the sea. The road to the museum or Minac theatre is very bendy and narrow, watch for the sign post after leaving Penzance A30. Well worth a visit.
Really interesting museum and activities for children and adults. I learnt about communications and our pioneers. Good wet weather option with underground bunkers and near to beach if sun does make an appearance.
PK Porthcurno is a fascinating museum that offers a deep dive into the history of global communications. Located in a beautiful part of Cornwall, it manages to make the complex story of undersea cables and telegraphy both engaging and accessible. The displays of vintage radio equipment and historical technology are incredibly well-preserved. It is particularly impressive to see the sheer scale of the engineering that once connected the world from this quiet valley. A genuine sense of atmosphere to the visit.
Very good musem, nicely located. Lot of interactive things to do, took us over 2 hours to go through it all even though its not massive. Also Caffe is lovely and reasonably priced! Really enjoy visit 😊
Really interesting museum all about the birth of global communication and an amazing WW2 bunker. Great for kids as there is lots to play with and even better for big kids as there’s loads to look at and learn. Dog friendly in the main museum and a great cafe and shop.
