Pleasant experience on the boat with option to purchase drinks on board. Friendly staff and knowledgeable guide. Boat was very steady so unlikely for any passengers to feel sea sick. At the back of the boat, commentary sounded quiet and so at times was difficult to hear the guide. Perhaps slightly overpriced in terms of the experience provided. Seats were also a little uncomfortable.

Adult tickets are 12 pounds, 10 for senior citizens. Under 5 are free. We can't book tickets in advance or pay online. They charge just before we board the cruise. There is a bar available, you can order drinks on the cruise (no hot drinks available) Almost one hour trip, history is well explained. Good scenery and kids definitely enjoy the trip . There is also a rowing boat available but we didn't try it.

After a walk around the city, we spotted the river cruise. Kids were very keen so off we went! Commentary was good and the cruise was fairly laid back for the hour we were out. The boat goes a little up the river in one direction (bit not too far as the river is not too deep) and then back up the river the other way to see the cathedral (but again, not too far as there is a weir!) Kids perhaps got a little impatient at times, but it was a good little cruise.

£10 per adult to have an hour’s cruise on the river. Boat has a bar and drinks are reasonably priced. There’s also commentary as well giving insightful facts about Durham’s history. It’s well worth the money. Would highly recommend.

Great price for this hour long cruise. Very relaxing and peaceful with great views. It is informative and a great oppertunity to see the sights from a new perspective. There is an on board bar and toilets. There is also disabled access making this accessable for all. Well worth a visit.
