Prison Island Belfast

Belfast, United Kingdom•4.9(882)•Escape Room

Complete 31 prison-themed challenges in a team-based escape room experience with live scoring and interactive games for ages 6-99.

Prison Island Belfast is an innovative escape room venue offering a unique twist on traditional locked-room experiences. Visitors enter a prison-themed environment where teams of 2-4 players (ages 9-99, with ages 6-8 able to play with an adult) navigate 31 different challenge cells. Unlike conventional escape rooms, players are never locked in and can freely choose which cells to attempt, repeat challenges, and leave at any time. The venue features multiple types of interactive activities across its cells, each lasting 2-5 minutes and offering different skill challenges. A fully automated live scoring system displays real-time leaderboards, allowing teams to compete against one another throughout their session. Session options range from 1 hour to 2.5 hours, with the 1.5-hour option being particularly recommended for a fully immersive experience where teams can attempt 20-25 different challenges. Prison Island Belfast also offers complementary experiences on-site, including Quiz Boxing (a TV-style quiz game in a boxing ring), The Think Box (12 puzzle boxes with 80+ mind-bending challenges), and Axe Yard (interactive axe throwing with real axes for ages 18+). The venue is designed for families, birthday parties, team building, and group events, providing booking-required sessions with a cafe available on-site.

Took my wife and 2 sons (7 & 8) for my birthday and had a great time. We booked online and went for the 1.5 hour session and it flew by. If anyone remembers the crystal maze it's basically like that. Beware the 'Tilt' room if you have any balance issues/vertigo. Drinks and snacks are available at reception which aren't allowed on the game floor but each team is allocated a locker along with their fob to enter each game room. Would highly recommend for families and small groups or multiple teams for large groups. 👌🏼

Visited may 27th, staff are so friendly. We did the axe throwing and the prison island itself. Robyn was an amazing coach and taught us the correct way to throw the axe. We ended up having a great time! She even let us pick what music we listened to. We even added extra time to our prison island experience as it was that much fun! They’re really is something for everyone. It also has lockers to store your stuff & toilets to use. There is food/snack/drink available in the cafe, with lots of choice. Of course there’s also toilets. Great place, will visit again!

Really awesome place for small or big groups. There's challenges for everyone with different skills including physical, maths, teamwork and some that are just completely off the wall. Compete with friends and family as well as other users to get as many points as possible in each room before the timer runs out.

We had an absolute blast at Prison Island. 🏝️🎉 The whole experience was so much fun, but honestly the staff made it even more special. 🙌🤩 A huge thank you 🙏 to our Prison Officers, Robyn and Hayden, who were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and lovely from start to finish. 😊👏 We mentioned that it was our 10th anniversary, ❤️ and the team went above and beyond by surprising us with a bottle of Prosecco. 🥂💕 Such a kind and thoughtful gesture that truly made our day and topped off our trip to Belfast perfectly. 🌆😊 We can’t recommend this place enough. 🙌⭐ Thank you so much for the amazing memories. We’ll definitely be back. 💕💯 Once again a big thank you. 🙏
