What an incredible day! Charlie, our instructor, was so good at teaching and explaining how an OS maps works. The classroom session was so informative and I felt he made time for all our questions and explained it so well. He then took us out on the walk and we were asked to use the maps and learn what is on them; he was very patient with us and allowed us time to work things out for ourselves with a little reminder of time etc. The walk was a beautiful scenic route in the peaks- such a good day! I started off that morning not even knowing what symbols meant on the OS maps (and fearing them tbh!), to being able to locate myself on the map, find north and directing myself!! I would definitely recommend this day!

Absolutely fantastic. Mark made everyone in the group feel very welcome, comfortable and safe. We all felt encouraged to work within our capability but to try things. I learnt so much. The riding with stunning views and challenging terrains was perfect. The session on the grass before going out was an excellent way to test our capabilities and give Mark a good idea of our level of skill. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for an amazing day..

Me and my partner had an amazing experience on the Indoor to Outdoor climbing course. We started the course as experienced indoor lead climbers and beginner outdoor boulderers, our goal was to become independent trad climbers. I could not recommend this course enough for anyone with similar experience levels and goals. The course was split into two two-day parts. Our instructor for the first two days, Gus, took us to Stanage and quickly got us set up on a top rope, giving us a taste of things to come, while he identified our level of experience. We spent the rest of the day learning how to place gear and build an anchor to top rope on, skills which we put into practice on the second day where we climbed three routes of our choice! Gus gave us the perfect amount of tuition, he allowed us to gradually become more independent as the day went on while always checking we were safe. Gus was such a good teacher and had us feeling very confident for the next half of the course. The next two days were focussed specifically on leading with a new instructor, Neil. On the first day we were also joined by Ben, a trainee instructor, this meant the instructor to participant ratio was 1:1 for this day which was amazing! Neil took us to Froggatt, a sheltered crag, to make the most of a rainy day. We spent the morning building further confidence in gear placement before doing a couple of ghost leads, after which Neil or Ben would check our gear placement. On the final day of the course Neil took us to Burbage Edge, another great choice given the windy conditions. Here we led 2 routes each, achieving our goal of leading a trad climb! Neil's route choice and expertise was invaluable and he made sure to keep teaching us new skills at a comfortable pace and pushing us to improve. Afterwards Neil had a brew with us and talked about what he’d recommend we do next as independent climbers. I could continue to write more about how amazing this course was but it is already an essay! A huge thank you to Gus, Neil and Ben. You taught us so much, helped us feel more confident in our climbing skills and were great to spend the days with. We went home feeling really happy and so excited to try out routes at our local crag! Again I could not recommend this course enough.

I had an absolutely brilliant time on the Pure Outdoor Rock Climbing Full Day Adventure! It was really easy to get to and the communication beforehand was excellent, so I felt well prepared before the day even started. We were met with such a warm welcome and the whole team were incredibly friendly and approachable. Our instructor, Joe, was fantastic - really knowledgeable, encouraging, and made everyone feel comfortable straight away. I was a complete beginner and honestly thought I’d be totally out of my depth, but Joe made everything feel accessible and easy to learn. We got fitted with climbing shoes, learned knots, belaying, and climbing techniques, and were lucky enough to get out onto the actual rock face in amazing weather. I went on my own and was quite nervous beforehand, but there was absolutely no need - everyone was so welcoming and supportive. It ended up being such a fun and rewarding day, and I loved pushing myself out of my comfort zone while learning new skills outdoors. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone, whether you’re a total beginner or just looking for a great day out. Loved every minute and can’t wait to come back!
