Enjoy historic gardens with inclusive play equipment, a café, and rare trees dating back centuries in this accessible riverside park.

Radnor Gardens is a historic park in Twickenham with roots tracing back to the 18th century, when poet Alexander Pope was a local resident. The gardens are renowned for housing some of the first Weeping Willows ever planted in England, alongside several rare and beautiful tree species including an Indian Bean (Catalpa Speciosa). Original features such as a summerhouse and gazebo from the mid-18th century add to the park's heritage charm. The park offers a dedicated play area with inclusive equipment designed for children of all abilities, including a wheelchair-accessible roundabout, DDA compliant swing seat, interactive play panels, basket swing, and spinner bowl. Families can enjoy refreshments at the on-site café, which operates during the same hours as the accessible toilet facility. The park also features a bowls club and permits fishing with an appropriate licence. Radnor Gardens is accessible at all times and well-served by public transport, with Strawberry Hill station nearby and bus routes 33 and R68 providing easy access. The combination of historic architecture, inclusive play facilities, and natural beauty makes it an ideal destination for families seeking both recreation and cultural interest.

Very nice short path on the side of the Thames. It has a playground, a cafe and a big patch of grass. Several dogs on lead

Picturesque park in the borough of Richmond, along the River Thames. It has history dating back to the 17th Century. It includes a bowling green, playground, war memorial, 'bath house' and 'summer house' a little squared section with benches you can sit on and stare across the river and whole garden (I was reading a book there).

Nice park with direct view to River Thames, looks beautiful in the summer time. Plenty of willow trees which i loved. Pretty decent toilet too by the cafe that opens everyday til 5 pm. Kids playground is a bit bare but overall it is a good small playground area.

Radnor Gardens is a beautiful hidden gem in Twickenham perfect for a peaceful escape into nature. The park offers stunning riverside views, plenty of green space, and a calm, relaxing atmosphere that makes it ideal for both quiet strolls and family outings. One of the highlights is the lovely children’s playground safe, clean, and well-equipped, making it a favourite spot for little ones to play and enjoy the outdoors. The open lawns and flowerbeds are beautifully maintained, and the benches along the river are perfect for sitting back and taking in the view. Whether you’re walking your dog, spending quality time with your children, or simply looking to enjoy some fresh air in a peaceful setting, Radnor Gardens is a perfect choice. A wonderful mix of natural beauty and community spirit definitely worth a visit
