Not as unspoiled as our beautiful forest, and a massive shame council found fit to install near impenetrable wire fence along great swathes of riverbank, I can no longer visit my favorite creek with the dogs anymore, shame. Pleasant, but Epping Forest is better.

I've just moved to the area for three months and discovered Roding Valley and what an odd place it is. Loads of mature trees, a beautiful Silver Birch wood along with meadows and the Roding River. Sounds perfect right? But it all takes place beneath the din and dirt of the North Circular and other arterial roads. Horrible and wonderful in equal measure. My dog Bucket likes it.

Place is massive and can easily give you 3 hours walking surrounded by the greenery. Very refreshing
