Really enjoyed my first visit thank you. A lovely place that's all well maintained, different habitats with lots to see and was my first Sedge Warbler sighting 🐦

Free to enter, Volunteer run, 4 brilliant enclosed hides, a few other open ones. A cafe, shop and toilets, bike locks, all run my volunteers and really reasonable prices. Video feeds of nest boxes in the cafe, great merch. We borrowed binoculars for free - so nice of them!, they will also lend you a bike lock if you have forgotten yours. They have a harvest mouse tank, they’re so cute, they run a reintroduction programme! 🥰 There are lovely pick-nick spots as well! A big car park too, we cycled there from Leeds along the canal, took about an hour next to the canal! Couldn’t recommend it enough. 😊 only open Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday. 🤩

Having lived nearby for a few years I'm so surprised I haven't been. It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Definitely want to come back with binoculars. Saw maybe 5 people with serious telephoto lens . Signs up saying no jogging and no dogs really set the scene for a peaceful stroll in nature. You definitely feel like an observer passing through and not a participant. There is a carpark and accessable spaces nearer to the visitors center which closes a little earlier than the reserve itself. There are toilets next to the center which are open all the way til closing. Or at least they were open when we visited and that was 15min before closing.
