Good size swimming pool and very family friendly, changing rooms have plenty of changing tables but could be a little cleaner

£40 a month for this Absolutely stinks of nappies and stale urine when you walk through to the pool. Went for the 6pm “just swim” and lessons ran over, then babies’ lessons started in the middle of the pool. Kids were jumping in while people were trying to swim, despite there being a separate kids’ pool. One of the hairdryers even had flames coming out of it. The gym itself is clean, but there’s always someone hogging machines on their phone. And don’t bother turning up early for a booked gym session — you’ll get a penalty for “not attending” even when you’re there.

Changing rooms stunk of urine, the floor was soaking and a massive slip hazard. Round the pool is looking grimey and is in need of a clean massively. Sauna and Steamroom are fab additions if you can get into them to use them. Filled with groups of men doing business deals. Not a comfortable and welcoming place for a solo woman. Lane swimming but people were just gathering at the ends, again conducting business. Then you had people just barging up and down the middle of the lane so noone could actually follow the route, not that you could anyway as they were people just stopping mid swim to stand. Life guards blew the whistle at me for standing still at the end while I was waiting for the person in front to get further up so I could actually swim. But when the groups of men were stood so it was impossible to get the edge. Complete blind eye to it. The timetable is much better for a night swim which is why I travelled to try the centre out before I upgraded to the premium. I expected high standards as use other branches. I think I'll stick to Maltby.

Interesting that they have no one at the Rotherham Leisure Center to read, comment and make changes regards some of the negative comments that seem to be about smelly changing rooms and 'urine'. I inquired here re membership and it looked quite nice however just went to look at the Aston Leisure Center, which is nearer for us, and the Branch Manager has replied and commented on most reviews and has either forwarded to the team or has commented on what they will do to change that. Sounds to me like the Manager at Aston, cares.

Since moving to this pool from Aston my child has been unhappy. The pool used for children lessons is too cold, the timing is a very busy one and it's very hard to find a free changing room at the end of the lesson because of how busy it is. People tend to leave their belongings to hold a space so you cannot use them even if there is no one in. the public areas need more attention around cleanliness too. Aston was far better but unfortunately they cannot offer Monday lessons anymore.
