Free entry, great exhibits, kept the kids interested too which is no easy task. Really enjoyed a mooch around, varied items, super informative, very educational. Great cafe
A great range of exhibits and pieces. The building is very neat and clean with each room offering something new and exciting. The. Children loved the interaction on offer and the staff were very welcoming.
Wonderful gallery/museum in the centre of Exeter. A little like the Pitt Rivers in Oxford but also with a modern gallery extension. We saw an excellent Grayson Perry exhibition.
Can't rate this museum highly enough, we have been coming here since my daughter was one (she ia now six) and she still absolutely loves it. There is something to peak all interests. The museum quite often have separate paid for exhibitions which are always quite interesting. We visited February half term and did a felt badge making workshop, the staff were really attentive with my daughter and even later when her bage broke they helped to repair for her. There is a cafe which sells sandwiches and cakes too if you need a sit down.
Visited today and was genuinely impressed. The museum is beautifully laid out, with a great mix of history, art, and natural exhibits that are easy to follow and engaging. The galleries are spacious, well-curated, and full of interesting details without feeling overwhelming. I especially loved how interactive and family-friendly it is, while still being enjoyable for adults who just want to explore and learn. The building itself is stunning, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. A real gem in Exeter and definitely worth a visit - whether you're local or just passing through.
