A really pleasant and calming green space adjacent to the busy centre of Bath. The gardens are beautifully cared for and well looked after, and feel surprisingly peaceful given how close they are to everything. Opened in 1830 and named after the young Princess Victoria (later Queen Victoria), the park was created as a large public green space on the edge of Bath in the style of a Victorian pleasure garden. In the 19th century, parts of it were later developed into more formal landscaped areas, including the Botanical Gardens, designed to showcase a variety of plants for both education and leisure. It’s a great spot for a short walk or just sitting for a while and enjoying the surroundings. There’s plenty of greenery and seasonal colour, and it never feels overcrowded, even on nicer days. A spot to visit is the Botanical Gardens situated in the park. What stands out most is how easy it is to switch off here - you’re still in the city, but it doesn’t feel like it at all. A simple but lovely place that’s well worth a visit if you’re nearby.

The gardens are well kept, there’s plenty of space to unwind, and it’s got that calm Bath charm with great views nearby. Ideal for families, walks, or just switching off for a bit. It can get quite busy on sunny days, and parts of it feel more like open fields than landscaped gardens. Parking nearby can be a bit of a hassle, and facilities are decent but not exceptional.

Royal Victoria Park is an absolutely wonderful place to spend time and easily one of the highlights of Bath. This expansive green space offers something for everyone, whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or simply enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful setting. The park is incredibly well-maintained, with lush lawns, vibrant flower beds, and plenty of open space to walk or sit and unwind. The botanical gardens are particularly impressive, filled with a wide variety of plants and seasonal displays that add colour and charm throughout the year. It’s a peaceful environment that feels like a true escape from the busier parts of the city. One of the standout features is how versatile the park is. Families can enjoy the playground areas, while others might prefer a quiet picnic or a leisurely stroll along the paths. There’s also plenty of room for sports and casual activities, making it a lively yet never overwhelming space. The views of the surrounding Bath architecture add to the experience, blending nature with the city’s historic charm. On a sunny day, it’s hard to find a more pleasant spot to relax. Overall, Royal Victoria Park exceeded my expectations. It’s clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with something to offer visitors of all ages. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bath—a well-deserved 5 stars for such a delightful and refreshing place.

Superb park with plenty of open green space, views of the famous Royal Crescent, and the beautiful Botanical Garden. A lovely place for a walk, not far from the city centre. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the calming influence of nature. The Botanical Gardens boast an impressive collection of trees, with wonderful colours in October. Facilities include a café, play area and plenty of paid parking. There's also a distinctive historic bandstand. One criticism - toilet facilities were poor when I visited, with several cubicles out of use due to damage, despite a 20p charge.

What a fascinating place this is . The architecture is stunning on its own . Do take a gentle stroll along thus row and take your time looking .there are some fascinating details easily missed . There's a definite atmosphere here of peace calm and beauty. Find the beautiful lion door knocker. Notice the very top of these buildings and imagine what life was like for both the rich and their servants who worked here .not to be missed . Go early in the morning or out of season when it's quieter if you can .
