RSPB Bempton Cliffs is one of the UK's most spectacular wildlife destinations, located on the dramatic Yorkshire coast overlooking the North Sea. Between April and July, visitors can experience England's largest seabird city, where half a million seabirds gather to breed on towering white chalk cliffs. The reserve is home to impressive populations of Gannets, Puffins, Kittiwakes and Guillemots, with more Gannets acrobatically diving into the sea here than anywhere else on mainland England. Beyond the cliff-nesting seabirds, the reserve offers year-round wildlife watching opportunities. Spring and summer visitors can observe Corn Buntings, Skylarks and Linnets breeding in the grasslands, while Kestrels and Barn Owls hunt overhead. In winter, Short-eared Owls join the spectacle. The reserve features accessible walking trails along the spectacular cliffs, a visitor centre with facilities, and free entry for all ages. The site is suitable for families of all ages, including young children and pushchair users. Dogs are welcome, making it ideal for family visits. The reserve is part of the Flamborough headland recording area, with daily bird sightings updates available through Flamborough Bird Observatory, allowing visitors to plan their visit around recent wildlife activity.
