RSPB Hesketh Out Marsh is a nationally and internationally significant nature reserve forming part of the Ribble Estuary National Reserve in Lancashire. This place is incredible! Visited for first time recently, female hen Harrier and Glossy Ibis with little effort. Can’t wait to get some time off to visit again. Very accessible for those with prams or mobility issues. Just watch the potholes in the road on the way to car park.

A great place to watch birds, with plenty of species to observe. However, beware of the cold and windy weather—make sure to wear appropriate clothing and bring binoculars for the best experience!

4 stars for a twitcher. However, if you have an attention span of a Horsefly, would give 3 stars. The sign for the site had fallen and upside down. I would not recommend the track going up to the car park if you have a new/ low vehicle, or a petrol head. It is full of potholes, some small. Once you arrive and take a little walk up the public footpath, the vista is well worth it. If your name is Karen, you must go there for a lifetime photo opportunity! Wood recommended.
