Visit websiteWell I drove a train and really drove it with no mollycodling. Dave, Dave and Mike provided a absolutely superb experience, I recommend you visit, unfortunately the museum was closed by the time I finished my drive but luckily the Station Bar was open and what a fantastic bar it is with a good range of beers, worth the visit on is own. I'll be back , keep up the good work.
Small museum with an extensive range of transport memorabilia. The museum is open from 10-12. The station had a number of carriages on the platform. The station bar opens at 12 and has a good selection of food, ales and ciders. There's also the added bonus of meeting Thomas, the station cat.
A lively afternoon of entertainment at tbs Rushden Historical Transport Society 40th birthday of their bar. Much to do for families and railway buffs... Sally assistance hound was welcomed too.
So we didn't go for the museum itself. They were hosting a "Cuppa and Cake" event where there were stalls of handmade items, sweet treats, raffles and tombolas. It was really lovely and I hope they do this every year. We travelled 45 mins from MK (near the city centre) and we had a wonderful time - thank you!
An interesting place that often holds events. You can even have afternoon tea here in one of the carriages. Often run by volunteers, it's free to look around.
