Brilliant experience from the beginning. Well set out. Lots of history and working fairground models. Reasonable entry price and the penny arcade is worth the experience. There is a cafe with a modest selection of snacks and the drinks are of good quality. Friendly staff and helpful when asked. I disagree with the negative comments as they seem to be arriving far too late, a little entitled and it is clear someone’s children don’t like to be told no! Having dismissed the negativity, there are facilities provided within the ballroom area where the cafe is also located, there are exhibits in every nook and cranny. It’s not a very big place and you can complete most of it in a couple of hours if you exclude going on the rides and the penny arcade. A bag of pennies is £1. Rides are rotated due to staff and health and safety and are mainly £1 per rider, cheaper than any modern equivalent. Overall an enjoyable day.

Great collection of interesting fairground rides, organs and other vehicles. Several buildings housing everything from fairground gallopers and accompanying organs, to ghost trains and dodgems - all of which you can ride for a small additional fee (£1 for most) - they rotate through the rides each half hour. There is also a large collection of classic cars, motorcycles and tractors, and several steam engines. The penny arcade is also good fun, surprised to see some of those are 100 years old and still going strong! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

This was truly surprising,when we pulled up in the car park it looked very small from the outside, but once inside it was really amazing. A good collection of antique vehicles, rides and miniatures, a place to play old amusement style games (you buy old pennies from the desk, I won some minnie jammie dodgers. Everything kept in beautiful condition. They are regular wurlitzer playing sessions in a big cafe area. Prices for sandwiches and drinks are very reasonable.

We had such a lovely day here. The volunteers are so friendly and helpful. We loved going on all the old rides. The dancing and music in the hall was great to listen to and watch. Children enjoyed the penny arcade. A very well maintained museum with lots of interesting vehicles to look at too. We would definitely visit again.

Took my elderly parents and we all really enjoyed it .a bit of a warning if you wear earing aids turn them down as the organs that play are really loud .nice to see the rides all working and the price to go on them are really good 👍 only had a cup of tea in the cafe but sat listening to a wurlitzer being played was excellent .the place is spotless exhibitions are really good.. price to get in was not overpriced. And to see elderly peaple running to get on the next ride that was being run was lovely to see. Well worth a visit and a couple of enjoyable hrs
