It is a lovely building and garden but yesterday myself and my girlfriend went early and when we got there we found schools had taken over. We had paid online so felt we had to stay to look around. Because one group had taken over the ticket room we couldn't go in there ,then another class had taken over inside the main building so we walked around the garden and had a fast look in the couple of rooms not taken over by the kids and left. Why don't they shut it off for schools one day and week so visitors can enjoy looking around.very disappointed 😞

A thoroughly delightful and charming medieval timber framed property situated in the heart of Bournville, Birmingham. The manor house itself was moved by the Cadbury family from nearby Selly Oak and the other timber framed building was moved from Minworth and both buildings are wonderfully spectacular and full of character with breathtaking medieval architecture and easy on the eye. You can wander inside the mansion and see a series of well displayed room such as The Bed Chamber, The Kitchen, The Solar, The Garret and The Hall. All of the rooms are laid out in wonderful medieval splendour and there are information displays detailing their use and giving an idea of how people lived during that period and also there is a great four poster bed to see in the bed chamber and also there are several great cabinets to see as well. There is the gardens with great topiary and paterre displays adding to the charm of the place. There is a gift shop selling a range of wonderful souvenirs at reasonable prices. Overall this is a thoroughly awesome and spectacular place to visit and makes for a thoroughly wonderful and lovely day out. Definitely well worth a visit whilst in Bournville area of Birmingham.

We had our wedding at Selly Manor Museum a couple of weeks ago and it was the most perfect venue. The ceremony space is so beautiful. All of the staff were lovely and helpful - offering lots of support ahead of the day and supporting us with decorating and setting up the space. Couldn't recommend them more highly as a special place for a wedding!
