Sherwood Forest has changed over the years. I remember being brought here on holiday as a child, teenager, plus bringing my own children here as they grew up and this was at a time when there wasn't a lovely visitor's centre, walkways and fenced off areas, especially the Great Oak Tree where Robin Hood hid, many years ago. I have video of my children hiding inside the same tree on many occasions and enjoying climbing other oak trees plus riding their bikes through the forest. Great memories. Although these days are gone and it's all very different now, I totally understand why and much admit that the area brings so much joy to do many visitors, year in and year out. Hopefully see you all again next year. The visitor centre has a lovely gift shop filled with Robin Hood related items, a cafe, lift, and clean toilets. Parking areas that you need to pay for. Other shops are within walking distance from the visitor centre and definitely worth a look. Such a beautiful area 🤩

A beautiful place to explore and enjoy nature. The forest is peaceful, well maintained, and perfect for a relaxing walk. The visitor facilities were great, and the atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

Sat nav won't send you to the car park but the visitor centre instead. The car park is across the road from the visitor centre. This place is great! A few different walking routes and lots to see. A large playground for children, lots of picnic benches and all areas are dog friendly. We enjoyed our visit and parked for free as RSPB members. Would definitely return to walk more routes.

This place is a cool visit, it really brings Robin Hood's stories alive, a really cool place! 🏞️ The paths are well-maintained, and the active activities are really fun. Plus, the coffee around here is top-notch ☕️ and loads of joints to eat. All in all, it's a great day out! 🌞 Whether you're looking for adventure or just a chill vibe, this spot delivers.
