UPDATE: Thank you for your response. So my niece had a free trial session last week and she really liked it so we decided to book her for lessons. Her first paid lesson is starting from tomorrow (2nd Sept 26) so her membership has just started. As you said, i should be paying £63 for the first month irrespective of the number of weeks but i have been charged £77.50 for the month of Sept as the lady said there are 5 weeks in Sept so she is going to charge us extra. It did not make sense so i queried this again the next day and i was told by another lady that i need to pay extra, but this is clearly wrong. Both me and my husband learnt swimming at Shirley swimming pool and have great memories that is why i suggested to my niece to go there for lessons. Can you please check and refund me £14.50 asap. Also, we were repeatedly told at the reception that she has access to unlimited public swim sessions even though they knew that she is a beginner, they did not mention that she cannot access public swim sessions till she is a confident swimmer. She went for public swin today and was told that she cannot get in the pool as she cannot swim. I understand the reason behind this and i appreciate that this is for her safety but if this is the case, the staff should not be misleading us by repeatedly mentioning about the free public swim. I keep getting the feeling that the staff needs to be better trained as this is all leading to a lot of confusion and grief. I spoke to the swim instructor and she mentioned that she told my niece that she cannot access big pool till she can swim but my niece does not remember this and also this is not what the reception staff told us even after i had a long chat with the lady, she kept saying, yes you have access to unlimited free public swim. This is all very very confusing. As a customer, i feel wronged. I would generally not write a negative review but i had to after i did not receive any help from your staff. Please refund my extra £14.50. Thank you Pricing is confusing, it says £63 for the first month for adult swimming lessons but they charged me £77.50 saying there is an extra week in Sept. But if you want to charge per week then that should be mentioned on the website, it is misleading so BEWARE. I asked if they are going to charge me more again if a month has 5 week, they had no answer. If you are saying £58 per month then that should be the price, no need to make things confusing by charging according to number of weeks!!

Pool seems dirty and yellow like from the 1970s. While I was swimming there was what can only described as bits of poo and swimming past plasters. Not a great experience. Shame as staff seem friendly and helpful. Had to cancel rest of my sessions due to the cleanliness of the pool.

My kids absolutely love it here. Staff are friendly and helpful. Only downside is parking is very limited.. but otherwise not a bad word to say

Been coming to Shirley Swimming Pool for a couple of months now with my 3 year old daughter, nostalgic as I used to swim here 26 years ago myself. She has come on leaps and bounds with her confidence and swimming skills thanks to Leah, who is a kind, patient and wonderful instructor. The staff on reception are brilliant, helpful and efficient, special thanks to Emma who always seems to deal with my never ending questions 😆 great team, great facilities, throughly recommend 💛

I cannot fault Shirley Swimming Pool. A long time ago I used to go there myself and now I come here with my child. Every single staff member we have met are friendly and helpful. The instructors are lovely too. If we are away or ill it is relatively easy to amend classes and book to new one - however this is done best in person or via phone as the app is not very user friendly. They offer a free taster for child swim lessons which is a must! Don’t forget a 20p for the lockers or the lovely people at the front desk can loan you it for your visit.
