Had a paid hour boat trip around the coast of Skomer island in June to see the Puffins, incredible birds! Protected island with thousands of birds! Came on a rainy day but didn’t ruin anything! You will need to get tickets in advance as it’s a popular attraction and sells out quick!

Such an amazing experience, good amount of time to explore the island. You have to bring your own lunch as there are next to no facilities. But the puffins were plentiful and we got lucky with the weather. The guide were lovely and approachable and the boat was easy. Overall a great day!

Going to Skomer Island is a fantastic, albeit very tiring, day out! We went on 17th July and there were still loads of puffins on the island. You’re on the island for 5 hours and if you are a strong walker you can get around the whole island in that time. There are shorter routes you can take as well. Do be aware if you go there’s only one place to go the loo. There’s very little cover so prepare for all weathers!

Fantastic experience. The 5 hours on the island flies by and there is so much wildlife to see. The Puffins will come close to you and they are just the best little birds to watch. Staff are great and the conversation aspect is truly important to them. They protect this sanctuary well and all I'd say is book well in advance and hope for good weather. Help support the protection of Puffins and sea birds where their nesting sites hang in the balance.

Best honeymoon ever! We visited Skomer Island to see the puffins, and it was worth every moment! Please note that puffins are on the island from mid-April to the end of July. The best time to see them is from mid-May to mid-July. Make sure to purchase your tickets in advance, as we almost missed out this year. Thankfully, someone canceled last minute, and we were able to get tickets. There is only one company that offers boat trips: Pembrokeshire Island Boat Trips. You can book your tickets through their website. If you have kids or mobility issues, I recommend starting the walk around the island in a clockwise direction, heading south. This way, you'll see the puffins after a relatively short walk (about 30 minutes). Otherwise, just follow the directions given by the volunteers at the beginning of the walk. You can spend the night on the island at the hostel facilities, but be sure to book well in advance. As of May 20th, the facilities are fully booked until the end of July. That's about it! Bring comfortable trainers, plenty of water and food, and definitely your camera! Enjoy this wonderful island! ☺️🙏
