Absolutely loved this place, almost as much as our granddaughters did!! Lots to see and do and keep the children entertained. Unfortunately, we only had a few hours there, but next time we go, we're taking a picnic and spending the day there. The animals all look healthy and happy. The children particularly loved petting and holding the bacy animals. It was a joy to watch them!

We've had a lovely day at Smith's hills farm feeding the animals. And listening to interesting information about lemurs porcupines, meercats and more. There's free parking. They sell fresh milk. The ice-cream on the farm was delicious too.

We have visited Smithills farm several times and will be going back. Great working farm, with plenty of animals, big and small, most of which you are able to feed, and some even hold. 2 large play areas, reptile area, pets corner ( which teaches everyone something new! ) are all great. Not forgetting the donkey rides and tractor rides, easily pass a whole day here. Be sure to buy some milk from the shop on the way out!

Great day out for a whole family. Plenty of animals to see and pet (especially baby ones). Everything is well organised so you won't miss anything. Tractor and donkey rides probably being the highlight of the visit. Also on site dairy means you get get some delicious ice creams and fresh milk.

Smithills Open Farm Absolutely fantastic day out for families – one of the best open farms we’ve visited in the UK. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear how much care and effort goes into making this a brilliant experience for both children and adults. The farm is spacious, well laid out, and immaculately kept, with loads to do without ever feeling overcrowded or rushed. The animal areas are excellent – plenty of opportunities to get up close, feed animals, and learn about them. Everything feels well managed, safe, and genuinely focused on animal welfare, which really matters. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly enjoy what they do; they’re great with kids and happy to answer questions. There’s a fantastic mix of indoor and outdoor activities, which makes it ideal regardless of the weather. The play areas are superb, catering to different ages, and give children plenty of freedom to explore and burn off energy. You can easily spend a full day here without running out of things to do. Food and facilities are also very good – clean toilets, good café options, and plenty of seating areas to take a break. It’s one of those places that’s clearly designed with families in mind, so everything just works smoothly. Overall, Smithills Open Farm strikes the perfect balance between fun, education, and relaxation. It’s not just entertaining for kids – adults genuinely enjoy it too. Excellent value for money and somewhere we’d happily return to again and again. Highly recommended. 🌟
