Spent a few hours up at the Bungalow / Snaefell point today watching the madness of TT week 😅 Jumped on the electric tram from Derby Castle Station all the way up the mountain which in itself is pretty cool. Proper old school vibes, hanging out the windows, wind in your face and everyone buzzing for the racing. Weather was absolutely spot on too which helps because I reckon if it was raining sideways up there you’d lose a toe within 15 minutes 😂 Watched bikes flying up the mountain flat out, the odd car giving it death trying to avoid attracting the attention of the police cars haha. Atmosphere was brilliant. Everyone just chilling, talking bikes, taking photos and waiting for the next lunatic to come screaming through. One of them places where not a huge amount is actually “going on”… but you somehow still have a wicked time. Definitely worth doing if you come over for TT 👊
Stunning views from the top, Had a cream tea in the cafe, excellent
Great views after getting the mountain railway 🚞 train 🚆 up there; really friendly staff.
Brilliant ride on the Snaefell Mountain Railway from Laxey. Excellent journey with excellent views from the top. Bit cold though. Plenty of information given by pleasant staff. Recommended
Isle of Man, the Manx people and language. Their island fought over by nations that failed to change their ways of life. The Railway to the summit was built in 9 months and still stands in tact and is quite charming. The rail trip includes historical materials and a nice coffee shop at the top. These are independent people with their own currency and independently governed. Love that flag of three legs. It was reported to mean, 'no matter how you throw us, we land on our feet.'
