Little museum hidden away in the town centre. I'm ex RAF but am always interested in military museums of any kind. The Ox and Buck's were one of the first troops to land in France on DDAY.

A small museum situated in the centre of Woodstock, Oxon. A very enjoyable experience staffed by friendly and helpful volunteers. There is a very reasonable entrance fee. The museum is packed with excellent and varied displays. There's information on Winston Churchill and the Oxfordshire regiments. I was particularly impressed with the Horsa Glider Fuselage and the video of the D Day operation to capture the Pegasus Bridges, narated by a veteran who was there at the time. The museum has a small café providing excellent cakes and drinks. All in all, an excellent experience, well worth revisiting.

Great war museum set in the beautiful grounds at the back of the Woodstock Museum. Lots of interactive displays for children and currently showing a good selection of Lee Miller's photos.

The museum is tucked away behind The Oxfordshire Museum and Woodstock Library, and is worth visiting. There are a number of exhibits and displays featuring various periods of the regiments’ histories. Some parts of the museum are interactive such as a WW1 trench and WW2 Anderson shelter and airborne glider, which would appeal to younger visitors. At the time of visiting there was a temporary exhibition, called ‘Into Battle!’ About British war comics. This was well presented. It would perhaps be good to see a few more artefacts on display. An interesting place to spend an hour, good value at £6.50.

This is a great place with a lot more to see than you'd first expect. I especially like the efforts made for the experiences to be tactile. Children can dress up, pick up items etc. The exhibits are excellent quality and there is a lot of art on display too. The staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. There's also a selection of Preloved books on sale which are very good value so look out for them
