We were a party of eight walkers when we visited the museum today. Not a large museum, but very interesting. What made the visit really good was the knowledge and enthusiasm of the guide John who told us all about his experiences in many years of mining around the UK. We could have stayed longer, but unfortunately we had to move on. Every one of us enjoyed the tour. Thank you John, your knowledge is irreplaceable.

Very interesting museum explaining the history of mining across the valleys with a great guide who knew all about the history (as an ex-miner himself). Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially those who also have family that were involved in the industry across South Wales. Diolch yn fawr

Absolutely amazing place to visit. Thoroughly enjoyed my guided tour, provided by an ex-miner. Loads to see and lots of interactive displays. Spent around 2hrs looking at everything. Lovely cafe on site too!

we were a large group of 9 and welcomed by the lovely Elwyn and June 3 weeks ago! they were so warm, friendly and knowledgeable. not only did we get a history of the region and of Wales, we also got to see first hand the friendliness of the people here. tickets are £4 although booking in advance is recommended. Elwyn gave us a very informative tour of the museum and then we had a lovely chat at the gift shop. it's completely volunteer-run so highly commendable how much effort the team puts in here - the staff all have family who have worked in the mining industry in the area so they have a wealth of experiences to share. beautiful people, highly recommend coming here 💓💓💓 we were touched by their hospitality, it's so rare to come across this in the UK
