Southsea Skatepark

Portsmouth, United Kingdom•4.6(305)•Playground, Skate Park

Ride one of the UK's oldest and most legendary skateparks with concrete ramps for all abilities, plus a historic 1970s vintage terrain.

Established in 1978, Southsea Skatepark is one of the UK's longest-standing skateparks and a community hub in the heart of Southsea. This iconic outdoor venue features concrete ramps and terrain suitable for all abilities, including the famous 'Resi' ramp—the only one of its kind outside in the UK. The park preserves vintage 1970s concrete skating surfaces alongside modern facilities, making it a unique destination for skateboarding, BMX, scootering, and other action sports. Run by a volunteer-led charity, Southsea Skatepark serves as more than just a riding destination—it's a space where people of all ages and backgrounds come together to move, create, and connect. The park has fostered numerous young athletes who have achieved great success, including Olympic bronze medalist Declan Brooks. With structured sessions throughout the week and weekend programming including Mini Wheelers sessions for younger riders, the venue welcomes families and beginners alongside experienced athletes. Visitors can enjoy affordable session fees, equipment hire options, and access to visitor facilities. The venue also offers birthday parties and park hire for groups. Plans for a roof project will soon provide year-round access regardless of weather. Dog-friendly outdoor access and a museum shop add to the venue's appeal as a community gathering place.

Good size ramps and bowls..However it's aging and the let down is the condition of the floor and ramps. It's all bumpy and some cracks showing up in between the panels.Could be quite dangerous.Guy at reception said its gunna be resurfaced which looks well overdue

Amazing place with great atmosphere, good music and a fantastic & kind team. Our boys went almost every day during our stay in Portsmouth, and were super sad to leave the UK, mainly because of Southsea Skatepark. Thank you!

Great fun and lots of variety. Took our little girl again and she had a great time... but there's more. The cafe. The cafe! The food served there is simple, and served fresh at reasonable prices. The people that run it are lovely, and really welcoming. Have lunch here! Bring your safety gear, and strap yourself for a great time!

Took my son of nearly 9. Free entry to spectate.stewards keeping a watch out. Loads of great friendly kids to chat and learn from. Good atmosphere. Had a coffee and some cheesy chips in the on site cafe. which were really nice, and all quite reasonably priced.
