Lovely Discovety Centre with gifts and cafe. Parking is £5 per day. Peninsula to Spurn Point run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. It's about 4 miles each way to the Point where there is much to see especially from World War 2. High tides can turn the peninsula into an island so check tide times. At low tide, the beach is firm enough to walk on comfortably. Once past the breached area, there is a track for the rest of the wa. Sometimes there is transport to the Lighthouse area but needs to be checked in advance. Note that dogs are not allowed on the peninsula. Well worth a visit.

Saw a seal resting on the beach and lots of birds and other wildlife. Lighthouse was closed but the walk to and back from the Point was fantastic but exhausting at a solid 16 km from the Crown and Anchor pub. Wear sturdy hiking boots and take a raincoat.

A very isolated and beautiful place when we visited on New Year's eve, very cold but the Café in the discovery centre was excellent, we had our lunch there. My only criticism is that the car park which was £5 for non members could not be paid by using the on site machine as the machine was out of order. They expected me at 75 years old to walk backwards and forwards to the visitor centre to pay for it!! No way! So we parked in the road, there loss, repair your machine or it should be free!

Beautiful nature reserve, especially in sunny weather. A lovely visitor centre at the start of the trail with a cafe, toilets and fountain to fill up water bottles. Pay for parking at the cafe - it’s £5 or free if you’re a member of a Wildlife Trust. Entry to the reserve itself is free but a donation is welcomed. The sausage sandwich was superb and good value too. Along the 3.5 mile walk to the point we spotted seals, red deer and lots more wildlife. The trail is a mix of a sandy track and some off-road sections across the beach. There are also toilets in one of the buildings at the end of the trail. Can be exposed to the weather at times so prepare for a decent walk - we took about 4 hours at a leisurely pace. Also check in advance online for the high tides, as occasionally a section of the trail will be submerged and you could find yourself cut off.
